Azteca, located within the Star Casino in Brisbane City, approached us to create a distinctive brand that would set it apart in a competitive market. Collaborating with the directors, we developed a visual identity that aligns with the restaurant’s luxurious and mysterious atmosphere, while complementing its interior design.
The result is a comprehensive brand guideline and creative direction for the $3.4 million precinct, capturing a mood of sophistication and spontaneity. The brand reflects Azteca’s exclusive and dynamic experience, establishing it as a standout destination in Brisbane’s vibrant hospitality scene.

Our vision is to harness layout and typography in an innovative, abstract manner that transcends traditional grids while maintaining an air of simplicity and luxury. By embracing a more fluid and artistic approach, we can create a visual experience that feels both sophisticated and unique. This abstract layout draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of Aztec patterns, reflecting the intricate designs found in the culture and the venue itself.
Creative Direction:
For this brand, we developed a creative direction that merges lively energy with sophisticated allure, resulting in imagery that is both vibrant and moody. Working closely with the photographer, we crafted dynamic compositions that convey a sense of mystery, while ensuring an elegant and refined overall tone. Bold colour inject excitement, while dark environments and thoughtful framing create a sense of intimacy and mystery. Shadows and low light were embraced to build a deeper, more atmospheric ambiance, with rich, deep tones adding emotional depth to the visuals. Our styling and coordination focused on capturing unique moments and a sense of indulgence that felt authentic and spontaneous, inviting viewers into a genuine, intimate narrative.
